Winter green works in Oct
We have been advised by Kevin that the greenkeepers will be starting the winter course works on the greens from Monday 4th Oct. As the Victor Ludorum was scheduled for 6th Oct the Committee has decided to move this season finale competition to the 13th Oct.
This means that some changes have had to be made to the programme in the first 2 weeks of Oct. The revised dates are shown below (the original comp dates are in brackets). The Combined Pairs on the 4th Oct is unchanged.
6th Oct Yellow Stableford (11th Oct)
11th Oct 4 Club challenge Yellow Stableford (13th Oct)
13th Oct Yellow Stableford for Non Victor Ludorum qualifiers ( 6th Oct)
13th Oct Victor Ludorum ( 6th Oct)
Booking is as normal via the V1 app or HDID and all the above changes have been made in the system.
No Summer Order of Merit points were being awarded after the 29th Sept Bogey Comp and that is still the case.
The Summer Order of Merit has Dave Angus in the lead (95.5) with Tony Garrity (76.49), Bill Cole (76.33) and Tim Bellamy (72.0) all potentially in a position to overhaul Dave in the last three OOM points qualifying competitions.

Changes to golf after 19th July 2021 when Covid restrictions are lifted
Gents,
As previously communicated by Kevin golf returns to pre-Covid playing conditions on 19th July.
As a result of this release from Covid playing conditions the following changes will apply to get us back the normal golf on 19th July.
1 All course furniture can be handled, so flags may be removed.
2 Bunker rakes will be available for use by those in bunkers so you can no longer move the ball 6 inches in a bunker (unless in water then a free drop in the bunker no nearer the hole). Ball washers will be available.
3 Penalty area marker posts and distance markers can be moved if interfering with your stance/shot. You have never been allowed to move the white out of bounds posts.
4 Competition sign in can be via either the V1/HDID app or by the PSI screen.
5 Score cards must be exchanged with playing partners for scoring and both player and maker to sign off on completion of the round. The new score cord requires you to include your WHS index, course and playing handicaps. Incorrect completed card – Disqualification.
6 From 19th July score entry will only be possible by means of the PSI screen in the clubhouse. The V1/HDID app score entry option will be removed from competitions. You cannot go home and enter your score later it must be done as soon as possible after the round.
7 Completed score cards are to be left in the bar after score entry, like we used to do pre-Covid. No card handed in will result in Disqualification.
Seniors Committee
14th July 2021
Invitation day 30th June Reminder
This event is getting closer now and a few more tees have been added. It is available to book on the V1/HDID apps and/PSI terminal.
Please note that a tee time can only be booked in a members name, you cannot add the name of your guest to the booking. You need to email me with the name of your guest and their home club and CDH number and I will add their details into the system.
To qualify for a prize a current CDH number is required so they must be a member of a golf club.
It would assist the club that where possible the early tee times are filled first as we are playing outside of our normal time slot and having unfilled early tees and taking later tees restricts access for other members on the day.
Away day at the Hirsel
The first Seniors away day is on Wednesday 7th July at The Hirsel , Coldstream.
A notice will be placed on the Seniors Noticeboard in the locker room on Friday 11th re this event.
If you wish to attend then you need to add your name to the list.
Thanks.

May Update
Gents,
A few items for your information.
- From 1st June 2021 we will revert to paying out 80% of competition entry fees as the prize pot with the other 20% being retained for Section funds (i.e. subsidizing events such as away days and Xmas lunch etc).
- For clarification when you sign in to a competition your playing handicap is shown on the screen, it is in with your WHS index and Course handicap but it is only the playing handicap that needs to be recorded on the card. Remember your playing handicap may change if the comp is off the white tees. The WHS index is updated automatically in the system after each competition.
- Score entry. Please note the deadline for entering competition scores into the system is 4.00 p.m. which is more than enough time to comply with the requirement to promptly return scores on completion of your round (Rule 3.3b).
- Finally, with the Senior’s Open and Invitation days coming up in June any donations for Raffle prizes will be gratefully received by any Committee member.
